disgruntling

Making someone sulky

Disgruntling is making someone dissatisfied or annoyed—the act of putting them in a bad mood.

The word is the present participle of disgruntle, which despite appearances has no opposite "gruntle" in common use: The constant delays were disgruntling even the most patient customers.

Someone who has been disgruntled is left feeling sulky or resentful.
