direct descendant
Child or grandchild
A direct descendant is someone in an unbroken line of parent-child relationships from an ancestor—a child, grandchild, great-grandchild, and so on.
The term distinguishes linear descent from collateral relatives like cousins or nephews: She's a direct descendant of Thomas Jefferson.
The phrase also applies to things that derive straight from a source: This software is a direct descendant of the original program.
