digital key
Electronic entry credential
A digital key is an electronic credential that grants access to something—a car, hotel room, or building—typically stored on a smartphone or wearable device.
It replaces or supplements physical keys and cards: I unlocked my rental car with the digital key in my phone's wallet app.
The term also applies to codes that unlock software or digital content.
