delint
Strip fabric fibers
To delint is to remove lint—the fuzzy fibers that accumulate on fabric, in pockets, or inside dryer filters.
The term extends to cotton processing, where delinting removes the short fibers clinging to cottonseed after ginning.
In computing, delint means to run a linter program that catches errors and style problems in code: I need to delint this file before committing.
