dandelion fluff
White wishing spheres
Dandelion fluff is the soft, feathery mass of seeds that forms on a dandelion after it flowers—the white puffball children blow to make wishes.
Each seed trails a delicate parachute of fine filaments that carries it on the wind.
The fluff appears in late spring and summer, drifting across lawns and fields: The yard was covered in dandelion fluff.
