cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs
Crazy for chocolate
Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs means crazy or wildly enthusiastic, from the long-running cereal commercials featuring Sonny the cuckoo bird, who loses control at the sight of Cocoa Puffs.
The phrase usually describes obsessive enthusiasm: She's cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs over that new band.
It can also mean simply unhinged: The guy went cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs when they towed his car.
