cross-voting
Voting against party
Cross-voting is voting against one's own party or expected bloc, supporting candidates or measures from the opposing side.
In parliamentary systems, it describes legislators breaking party discipline: Several backbenchers cross-voted on the budget bill.
In elections, it means splitting a ticket or voting for candidates from different parties: Cross-voting increased in districts where the incumbent was unpopular.
