crocodile clips
Jagged-jaw wire grips
Crocodile clips are spring-loaded metal clips with serrated jaws that grip wires or terminals to make temporary electrical connections.
The jaws open and close like a crocodile's mouth.
They're standard equipment for testing circuits, jumping batteries, and quick hookups that don't require soldering.
Also called alligator clips, especially in American English.
