banana plugs
Speaker wire connectors
Banana plugs are cylindrical electrical connectors with a spring-loaded or solid pin that plugs into a matching jack.
Named for their slight bulge in the middle, they're standard for connecting speaker wire to amplifiers and audio equipment: I upgraded to banana plugs so I could swap speakers easily.
Also used in test equipment and laboratory settings.
