crib-biting
Horse chews wood
Crib-biting is a compulsive behavior in horses where the animal grasps a fixed object—typically a fence rail or stall door—with its front teeth, arches its neck, and gulps air.
The habit can damage teeth and wooden structures, and once established is difficult to break.
Also called cribbing or wind-sucking.
