coroner's jury
Inquest decision body
A coroner's jury is a panel convened to assist a coroner in determining the cause and circumstances of a death.
Unlike trial juries, a coroner's jury doesn't decide guilt—it establishes facts: whether death was natural, accidental, suicide, or homicide.
The practice has declined in most jurisdictions, replaced by medical examiners working without juries.
