conterminous
Having common borders
Conterminous means sharing a boundary or having the same boundaries.
The term appears most often in geography: the conterminous United States refers to the 48 states that share borders, excluding Alaska and Hawaii.
Two properties are conterminous if they abut each other.
The word also means coextensive in time or scope: Her tenure was conterminous with the company's growth period.
Coterminous is a common variant.
