contact high
Proximity-induced altered state
A contact high is the sensation of being intoxicated from proximity to others who are using drugs, especially marijuana.
The term originally described actually inhaling secondhand smoke, but now often refers to a psychological effect—feeling buzzed just from being around high people: I wasn't smoking but I got a contact high from everyone else at the party.
The phrase extends to any secondhand enthusiasm or energy: Her excitement gave me a contact high.
