complete editions

Full published sets

Complete editions are versions of a work that include all content, without abridgment or omission.

Publishers use the term to distinguish from selections, excerpts, or condensed versions: the complete editions of Shakespeare's plays, a complete edition of the letters.

The label sometimes marks scholarly compilations that gather everything an author produced, including previously unpublished material.
