common bile duct
Liver-to-intestine tube
The common bile duct is the tube that carries bile from the liver and gallbladder to the small intestine.
It forms where the hepatic duct (from the liver) joins the cystic duct (from the gallbladder).
Gallstones can block the common bile duct, causing pain and jaundice.
