color bands
Spectrum's distinct zones
Color bands are stripes or rings of distinct colors appearing in sequence.
Electronic resistors use color bands as a coding system to indicate resistance values: The four color bands told him it was a 470-ohm resistor.
Color bands also appear naturally in minerals, rainbows, and animal markings, or artificially in flags, charts, and decorative patterns.
