claw feet
Ornate furniture legs
Claw feet are furniture legs carved to resemble an animal's foot—typically a bird's talon or lion's paw—gripping a ball.
The style appears on antique tables, chairs, and bathtubs, particularly from the 18th century: a Victorian tub with ornate claw feet.
The term also describes a foot deformity where toes curl downward like claws, caused by nerve damage or muscle imbalance.
