civic projects
Town improvement efforts
Civic projects are initiatives undertaken to improve public life in a community—building parks, renovating libraries, installing infrastructure, or organizing neighborhood cleanups.
The term emphasizes collective benefit and citizen participation: The mayor announced several civic projects to revitalize downtown.
Civic projects may be government-led or community-organized, but they serve the public good rather than private interests.
