A chaise longue is a long reclining chair with a back at one end—essentially a chair extended to support the legs.
The French means "long chair." Often mispronounced and misspelled as "chaise lounge," which makes a kind of sense given that you lounge on one: She stretched out on the chaise longue by the pool.
