chair umpires
Elevated court officials
Chair umpires are the officials who sit in elevated chairs at tennis matches, overseeing play and making final calls on disputes.
They announce the score, rule on line calls, and enforce rules of conduct.
The chair gives them a clear view of the court and authority over other officials: The chair umpire overruled the line judge's call.
