certificate error
Security validation failure
A certificate error is a warning that appears when a website's security certificate can't be verified—typically because it's expired, issued for a different domain, or from an untrusted authority.
Browsers display these errors to alert users that their connection may not be secure: I got a certificate error trying to access the company portal.
Users can sometimes proceed anyway, though doing so on unfamiliar sites is risky.
