cease to exist

End all being

To cease to exist is to stop being—to pass from existence into nonexistence.

The phrase applies to things that once were real but no longer are: The company ceased to exist after the merger.

It's more emphatic than simply "end" or "disappear," carrying finality: Without funding, the program will cease to exist.
