carbon-dated

Scientifically determined ancient

Carbon-dated describes something whose age has been determined through radiocarbon dating—a technique measuring the decay of carbon-14 in organic materials.

The method works for objects up to about 50,000 years old: The carbon-dated remains placed the settlement at 3,000 BCE.

Informally, calling someone or something carbon-dated suggests they're ancient or outdated.
