callstack
Nested function record
A callstack is the sequence of function calls that led to the current point in a program's execution.
When function A calls function B, which calls function C, the callstack shows that chain.
Programmers examine callstacks when debugging to trace how code reached an error: The callstack showed the crash originated in the database module.
Also written call stack.
