broguing
Shoe hole patterns
Broguing is the decorative perforating found on leather shoes, particularly brogues and wingtips—the patterns of small punched holes along seams and edges.
Originally functional for draining water from shoes worn in wet Scottish and Irish terrain, broguing became purely ornamental: The broguing on those oxfords gives them a classic look.
