boiler suit

One-piece work garment

A boiler suit is a one-piece garment covering the torso and legs, typically worn as protective workwear.

The loose-fitting coverall zips or buttons up the front and was originally worn by workers tending boilers and other industrial machinery.

British English uses boiler suit where American English prefers coveralls or jumpsuit: The mechanic wiped grease on his boiler suit.
