Blown insulation is loose-fill material—typically fiberglass, cellulose, or mineral wool—that gets sprayed or blown into wall cavities, attics, and other spaces using specialized equipment.
The method allows insulation to reach irregular areas and settle around obstacles that rigid batts can't easily cover: We had blown insulation added to the attic to cut heating costs.
