Extended-period school day
A block schedule is a school timetable that divides the day into fewer, longer class periods—typically four 90-minute blocks instead of six or seven shorter ones.
Students take fewer subjects per day but spend more time in each: With the block schedule, I have chemistry every other day for an hour and a half.
The format allows deeper engagement with material but requires teachers to plan for extended sessions.
