A blister pack is packaging where items sit in molded plastic bubbles sealed to cardboard backing.
Pills, batteries, and small hardware commonly come this way.
The format lets you see the product while keeping it secure, though the rigid plastic can be notoriously difficult to open: I cut my hand trying to get the scissors out of the blister pack.
