biweekly pay
Every fourteen days
Biweekly pay is compensation issued every two weeks, resulting in 26 paychecks per year.
This differs from semimonthly pay, which comes twice a month (24 paychecks).
The distinction matters for budgeting: biweekly pay yields two "extra" paychecks annually.
Most hourly employees receive biweekly pay.
