bar gig
Tavern live show
A bar gig is a musical performance at a bar or pub, typically by a local or lesser-known act.
Bar gigs are often stepping stones for emerging musicians, offering modest pay and intimate audiences: We played a lot of bar gigs before getting signed.
The term implies something smaller and less prestigious than a concert venue or festival slot.
