baptismal names
Given at font
Baptismal names are names given at baptism, typically a Christian ceremony.
In many traditions, these are the same as given names or first names, chosen by parents and formally bestowed during the religious rite.
Some denominations add a saint's name at baptism: Her baptismal names were Mary Catherine.
The term is largely historical or formal, now mostly replaced by "first name" or "given name" in secular contexts.
