band geeks
Halftime performance devotees
Band geeks are students deeply devoted to their school's marching band or concert band, embracing the activity with enthusiasm that others might find excessive.
The term captures both affection and mild ridicule—band members often use it proudly among themselves while outsiders may use it dismissively.
I was a total band geek in high school.
The culture involves intense rehearsals, inside jokes, and strong social bonds formed during competitions and band camp.
