Bagwork is training that involves striking a punching bag, a staple of boxing and martial arts conditioning.
A boxer's bagwork develops power, timing, and endurance: She spent an hour on bagwork before sparring.
The term can also refer more broadly to any systematic work with bags, as in material handling or packaging.
