backpacking trails
Paths for hikers
Backpacking trails are routes through wilderness or backcountry designed for multi-day hiking trips where travelers carry their gear and supplies.
Unlike day hikes, these trails often connect remote campsites and may cover rugged terrain over dozens or hundreds of miles: We spent a week on backpacking trails in the Sierras.
Famous examples include the Appalachian Trail and Pacific Crest Trail.
