A baby dyke is a young lesbian, especially one who has recently come out or is newly exploring her identity.
The term is used affectionately within lesbian communities, often with a sense of mentorship or nostalgia: I remember being a baby dyke in college, figuring everything out.
Like dyke itself, it can be reclaimed and endearing among queer women but potentially offensive from outsiders.
