baby dedication
Church infant ceremony
Baby dedication is a Christian ceremony in which parents publicly commit to raising their child according to religious principles, and the congregation pledges to support the family.
Unlike infant baptism, it doesn't confer sacramental status—the child isn't baptized or considered a church member.
Common in Baptist and evangelical traditions that practice believer's baptism: We're having a baby dedication at church next Sunday.
