average joes
Regular, unremarkable folks
Average joes are ordinary people without exceptional status, wealth, or abilities—the unremarkable majority.
The phrase often appears in discussions of how policies or products affect regular folks rather than elites: This tax plan helps average joes, not billionaires.
The singular average joe refers to a typical, unexceptional man: He's just an average joe.
