arm sleeve
Appendage fabric cover
An arm sleeve is a close-fitting fabric covering that extends from wrist to upper arm, worn for compression, warmth, sun protection, or style.
Athletes wear them for muscle support and to wick sweat: The basketball player never plays without his arm sleeves.
The term is slightly redundant—sleeves are already for arms—but distinguishes the standalone garment from sleeves attached to shirts.
