aquatic centers
Public swimming complexes
Aquatic centers are facilities built around swimming pools and water-based activities.
They typically include lap pools, recreational pools, water slides, and sometimes diving boards or lazy rivers.
The term emphasizes comprehensive water recreation rather than simple swimming: The city's new aquatic center has an Olympic-sized pool and splash pad for kids.
Most are public or municipal facilities.
