Orbit's turning point
An apsis is a point in an orbit where an object is nearest to or farthest from the body it orbits.
The closest point is periapsis; the farthest is apoapsis.
For orbits around specific bodies, the terms change: perigee and apogee for Earth, perihelion and aphelion for the Sun.
Plural: apsides.
