anthrax attack
Bacterial weapon assault
An anthrax attack is a bioterrorism event in which anthrax spores are deliberately released to infect people.
The term gained widespread use after the 2001 mailings of anthrax-laced letters to U.S. media offices and senators, which killed five people and caused nationwide alarm: The anthrax attacks came just weeks after 9/11.
