anteed
Put stakes in
Anteed is the past tense of ante, meaning to put up an initial stake in poker before cards are dealt: Everyone anteed five dollars.
The phrase ante up means to pay what's owed or contribute one's share, and anteed up follows the same pattern: He anteed up his portion of the rent.
