ammunition clip
Firearm feeding device
A clip is a device that holds cartridges together for loading into a firearm's magazine.
Strictly speaking, a clip feeds ammunition into a magazine, while a magazine feeds ammunition into the chamber—but in casual use, clip and magazine are often used interchangeably: He slapped a fresh clip into the rifle.
Gun enthusiasts consider the distinction important.
