alternative realities
Divergent possible worlds
Alternative realities are hypothetical or imagined worlds that differ from our own—parallel universes, divergent timelines, or entirely separate planes of existence.
The concept appears in physics (multiverse theory), fiction (stories exploring "what if" scenarios), and philosophy (possible worlds).
In casual use, someone living in an alternative reality is out of touch with facts or consensus: His version of events exists in some alternative reality.
