aids and abets

Helps commit wrongdoing

To aid and abet is to help someone commit a wrongful act, especially a crime—providing assistance, encouragement, or support while knowing the purpose.

The phrase is legal jargon that has spread into general use: She was charged with aiding and abetting the robbery.

Outside courtrooms, it often appears with mild irony for smaller offenses: My sister aided and abetted my escape from the family reunion.
