adult movies
X-rated cinema fare
Adult movies are films featuring explicit sexual content, intended for viewers over eighteen.
The term serves as a euphemism for pornography: The hotel charged him for adult movies on the bill.
In video stores, the adult section was typically curtained off.
The phrase can also mean films rated for mature audiences generally, though this sense is less common.
