adhesive stamps
Sticky postal squares
Adhesive stamps are postage stamps with a sticky backing, designed to be affixed to envelopes and packages.
The term distinguishes them from stamps requiring moisture to activate the glue.
Most modern stamps are self-adhesive, with a peel-off backing: I prefer adhesive stamps—no licking required.
