abstracter
One who distills
An abstracter is someone who abstracts—that is, summarizes or extracts essential information.
The term appears most often in real estate and title work, where an abstracter examines property records and compiles an abstract of title: a summary of all documents affecting ownership.
The abstracter found a lien from 1987 that hadn't been cleared.
Also spelled abstractor.
