WiFi calling
Wireless network calls
WiFi calling is a feature that routes phone calls over a wireless internet connection rather than through cellular towers.
It's useful in areas with poor cell reception but good WiFi coverage: I enabled WiFi calling because my apartment gets no signal.
The technology is built into most modern smartphones and typically requires no separate app.
